Cloud over southern SA with a trough & front is generating showers & a few storms. Cloud over eastern SA & western NSW with another trough is causing a few storms. Cloud along the NSW & SE QLD coast in onshore winds is bringing showers. Cloud over VIC & TAS is not bringing rain.

Launceston council received $10m drought grant for 'creative precinct'

The Federal Government awarded Launceston, in Tasmania's north, a $10-million drought recovery grant to help build a "creative precinct" in the city's CBD, while knocking back a request for help from an east coast council that suffered one of its driest years on record.

BOM issues La Nina watch, strengthening hopes the drought could end
