Cloud forming over southern and central QLD in an active trough is generating scattered thunderstorms, some severe with damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rain, mainly around Wide Bay and Burnett, and Southeast Coast. Skies are clearer elsewhere due to a dry airmass.

Hail falls near Toowoomba as severe storms move across South-East Queensland

A series of severe storm cells have impacted South-East Queensland from the Gold Coast north to Kingaroy in the South Burnett where the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) at one point warned of a "very dangerous" system moving south.

'Carbon copy' storms to ramp up in Queensland's south-east
