Flood Warning - Snowy River

Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, Victoria Final Flood Warning For The Snowy River Issued at 11:55 AM EST on Thursday 18 July 2024 Flood Warning Number: 2 MINOR FLOODING HAS EASED AT D/S BASIN CREEK Minor flooding has eased along the Snowy River. Further showers are possible during Friday into Saturday. The situation will be closely monitored and flood warning will restart if required. Snowy River downstream of McKillops Bridge: No further flooding is expected in the Snowy River downstream of McKillops Bridge. The Snowy River D/S Basin Ck peaked at 3.56 metres, just above the minor flood level around 08:00 pm Wednesday. The river level is currently at 3.33 metres, below the minor flood level (3.5 metres) and falling. The Snowy River D/S Basin Ck is likely to remain below the minor flood level (3.50 m) for the next few days. Flood Safety Advice: SES advises that all community members should: Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater, Never allow children to play in floodwater, Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain, Keep well clear of fallen power lines Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases the potential for landslides and debris across roads.} In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately.
