Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Victoria Fire Weather Warning for North Central and Central fire weather districts Issued at 04:36 AM EDT on Sunday 23 February 2025 Weather Situation A warm and dry morning with fresh and gusty northerly winds through central parts of the State. A milder, west to southwesterly wind change over western districts will extend into central parts during Sunday. Isolated high-based thunderstorm activity with dry lightning is also possible, most likely ahead of the change. For the rest of Sunday 23 February: Extreme Fire Danger for the following areas: North Central and Central Cancellation for the following areas: Mallee,Wimmera,South West The CFA advises that you: Action your Bushfire Survival Plan now. Monitor the fire and weather situation through ABC Local Radio, commercial and designated community radio stations, or Sky News TV, www.emergency.vic.gov.au and www.bom.gov.au. Call 000 (Triple Zero) in an emergency. For information on preparing for bushfires go to www.cfa.vic.gov.au. No further warnings will be issued for this event, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings issued if necessary.
