Severe Weather Warning

Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Victoria Cancellation of Coastal Hazard Warning for Central, East Gippsland and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts. Issued at 4:41 am Wednesday, 28 May 2025. Abnormally High Tides have now eased. Weather Situation A deep low pressure system lies to the east of Tasmania. A ridge of high pressure to the west is directing a vigorous southwesterly flow over Victoria following the passage of the low and front. cancellation of coastal hazard warning for the following areas: Central, East Gippsland and West and South Gippsland Abnormally high tides are no longer occurring in Victoria. Tides will however remain elevated today but are not expected to rise above the normal high tide mark. The immediate threat of coastal hazards has passed, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary. The Victoria State Emergency Service and Life Saving Victoria advise that people should be aware of the following: * Stay informed - monitor weather warnings and forecasts at the Bureau of Meteorology website, and warnings through VicEmergency app, website and hotline (1800 226 226). No further warnings will be issued for this event. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
