Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Victoria TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Cancellation Of Severe Weather Warning for Central, East Gippsland, North Central, North East and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts. Issued at 4:44 pm Saturday, 26 July 2025. Damaging winds and blizzard conditions have eased over the eastern ranges. Weather Situation Northerly winds have eased over alpine areas this afternoon, with damaging winds and blizzard conditions no longer expected. cancellation of severe weather warning for the following areas: Central, East Gippsland, North Central, North East and West and South Gippsland This warning is now cancelled. Other warnings may be current. Please check www.bom.gov.au/warnings/. Significant wind observations to 4:30 pm include: Sustained 78 km/h winds with a 107 km/h wind gust at Mount Hotham around 10:15 am. Sustained 69 km/h winds with a 100 km/h wind gust at Mount Buller around 10:00 am. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live. * Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees. * Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water. No further warnings will be issued for this event. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
