Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Victoria TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Cancellation Of Severe Weather Warning for Central, East Gippsland, North Central, North East and West and South Gippsland Forecast Districts. Issued at 4:49 am Saturday, 7 June 2025. Winds easing through northeastern Victoria. Weather Situation Strong winds aloft have now weakened, with winds across the elevated peaks of northeastern Victoria now below the damaging wind threshold. cancellation of severe weather warning for the following areas: Central, East Gippsland, North Central, North East and West and South Gippsland Damaging winds are no longer occurring in Victoria. The immediate threat of severe weather has passed, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary. A 95 km/h wind gust was recorded at Mount Gellibrand at 4.04 pm on June 6. A 98 km/h wind gust was recorded at Mount Hotham at 6.12 pm on June 6. A 89 km/h wind gust was recorded at Mount Buller at 8.13 pm on June 6. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Stay away from fallen powerlines - always assume they are live. * Stay safe by avoiding dangerous hazards, such as floodwater, mud, debris, damaged roads and fallen trees. * Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water. No further warnings will be issued for this event. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
