Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Tasmania Fire Weather Warning for East Coast and Midlands fire weather districts Issued at 03:59 AM EDT on Wednesday 04 February 2026 Weather Situation Warm and dry conditions, combined with strong and gusty northwest to southwesterly winds are expected Wednesday, leading to extreme fire danger over the Midlands and the East Coast. For the rest of Wednesday 04 February: Extreme Fire Danger for the following areas: East Coast and Midlands The Tasmania Fire Service advises you to: Action your Bushfire Survival Plan now. To create a plan, visit www.bushfire.tas.gov.au Monitor the current bushfire situation and warnings at the TasALERT website www.alert.tas.gov.au or ABC Local Radio. For more information on fire danger ratings, fire bans, and how to prepare for bushfire visit the TFS website www.fire.tas.gov.au or call 1800 000 699. Call 000 (Triple Zero) in an emergency.
