Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology Tasmania Cancellation of Coastal Hazard Warning for Upper Derwent Valley, South East and East Coast Forecast Districts. Issued at 10:55 pm Wednesday, 25 June 2025. The coastal hazard warning for abnormally high tides is now CANCELLED. Weather Situation A deep low pressure system, now in the Tasman Sea, generated strong to gale-force winds during the past two days, leading to elevated sea levels. These winds and elevated sea levels have now eased. cancellation of coastal hazard warning for the following areas: Upper Derwent Valley, South East and East Coast This warning is now cancelled. Other warnings may be current. Please check www.bom.gov.au/warnings/. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Supervise children closely. * Do not walk, ride or drive through flood waters. * Beware of damaged trees and power lines and take care when driving. * Listen to the ABC radio or check www.ses.tas.gov.au for further advice. * For emergency assistance contact the SES on 132500.
