Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology South Australia TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Cancellation Of Severe Weather Warning for Lower South East district. Issued at 2:21 pm Monday, 2 September 2024. Damaging wind gusts have eased over the far southeast cancellation of severe weather warning for the following areas: Lower South East Severe weather is no longer occurring in South Australia. The immediate threat of severe weather has passed, but the situation will continue to be monitored and further warnings will be issued if necessary. Significant wind observations to 2:00pm Monday include: 107 km/h wind gust recorded at Cape Jaffa at 11:51pm last night 106 km/h wind gust recorded at Mount Crawford at 12:06am this morning 105 km/h wind gust recorded Mount Gambier Airport at 10:20pm last night 98 km/h wind gust recorded at Munkora at 11:31pm last night 94 km/h wind gust recorded at Edithburgh at 10:25pm last night 90 km/h wind gust recorded at Naracoorte at 2:04 am this morning The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Keep clear of fallen power lines; * Beware of fallen trees or debris on the road. * Don't drive, ride or walk through flood water. * Keep clear of creeks and storm drains. No further warnings will be issued for this event. Warnings are also available through TV and Radio broadcasts, the Bureau's website at www.bom.gov.au or call 1300 659 210. The Bureau and State Emergency Service would appreciate warnings being broadcast regularly.
