Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Initial Minor Flood Warning For The Paterson And Williams Rivers Issued at 03:32 PM AEST on Saturday 02 August 2025 Flood Warning Number: 1 MINOR FLOODING POSSIBLE AT GOSTWYCK BRIDGE, DUNGOG AND MILL DAM FALLS OVERNIGHT SATURDAY INTO SUNDAY Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed since Friday night with further rainfall forecast for remainder of the weekend. This rainfall is likely to result in river level rises and minor flooding at Gostwyck Bridge, Dungog and Mill Dam Falls Saturday evening. A Severe Weather Warning for heavy rainfall which may lead to flash flooding is current for the Mid North Coast and Hunter Districts. Williams River: Minor flooding is likely to occur along the Williams River at Dungog and Mill Dam Falls. The Williams River at Dungog is likely to exceed the minor flood level (4.90 m) Saturday evening. The river may reach around 6.60 m Sunday morning, with minor flooding. Further rises are possible with forecast rain. The Williams River at Mill Dam Falls is currently at 2.20 m and rising, below the minor flood level. The Williams River at Mill Dam Falls is likely to exceed the minor flood level (6.10 m) Sunday morning. The river may exceed 7.30 m Sunday afternoon, with minor flooding. Further rises are possible with forecast rain. Paterson River: Minor flooding is likely to occur along the Paterson River at Gostwyck Bridge. The Paterson River at Gostwyck is currently at 2.87 m and rising, below the minor flood level. The Paterson River at Gostwyck is likely to exceed the minor flood level (9.10 m) Sunday morning. The river may exceed 10.00 m Sunday afternoon, with minor flooding. Further rises are possible with forecast rain. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
