Flood Warning for Wallis Lake
Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, New South Wales Minor Flood Warning For The Wallis Lake Issued at 04:50 PM EST on Friday 23 May 2025 Flood Warning Number: 6 MINOR FLOODING AT TUNCURRY (POINT ROAD) ON THE HIGH TIDES DURING FRIDAY AND SATURDAY Moderate to heavy rainfall since Monday has resulted in significant river level rises and minor flooding along the Karuah and Wang Wauk rivers. The Wallis Lake at Tuncurry (Point Road) peaked with minor flooding early Friday morning and Friday afternoon with the high tides. Renewed minor flooding possible Saturday morning. Isolated to scattered showers and thunderstorms are possible for the next few days, however, no widespread significant rainfall is expected. Wallis Lake: Minor flooding is occurring along the Wallis Lake. The Wallis Lake at Tuncurry (Point Road) peaked at 1.10 metres early Friday morning on the high tides and is currently at 1.02 metres and steady, with minor flooding. The Wallis Lake at Tuncurry (Point Road) is expected to fall below the minor flood level (0.90 m) Friday evening. Renewed rises to the minor flood level (0.90 m) are possible Saturday morning with the high tide. Flood Safety Advice: In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place. * Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood. * Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains. * Never drive, ride or walk through flood water.
