Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, New South Wales Final Flood Warning For The Bega River Issued at 10:49 AM EST on Sunday 12 May 2024 Flood Warning Number: 3 FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT BEGA NORTH Rainfall totals of up to 135 mm have been recorded across the Bega River catchment since 9 am Friday. Further showers are forecast for the remainder of Sunday throughout the catchment. However, flooding is no longer expected along the Bega River. Bega River: Flooding is no longer expected along the Bega River. The Bega River at Bega North is likely to peak below the minor flood level (4.60 m) Sunday afternoon. Flood Safety Advice: In life threatening emergencies, call 000 (triple zero) immediately. If you require rescue, assistance to evacuate or other emergency help, ring NSW SES on 132 500. * Avoid drowning. Stay out of rising water, seek refuge in the highest available place. * Prevent damage to your vehicle. Move it under cover, away from areas likely to flood. * Avoid being swept away. Stay out of fast-flowing creeks and storm drains. * Never drive, ride or walk through flood water.
