Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Final Flood Warning For The Georges River Issued at 10:52 AM AEST on Thursday 11 September 2025 Flood Warning Number: 4 FLOODING NO LONGER EXPECTED AT LIVERPOOL AND MILPERRA Moderate to heavy rainfall has been observed over the Georges River catchment during the last 24 hours, causing river level rises along the Georges River. A below minor peak was observed at Liverpool Thursday morning, and a below minor peak is forecast for Milperra Bridge around midday Thursday. No further significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days. Georges River: Minor flooding is no longer expected along the Georges River. The Georges River at Liverpool peaked at 1.81 m around 08:45 am Thursday, below the minor flood level. The river is currently at 1.78 m and steady, below the minor flood level. The Georges River at Liverpool is likely to remain below the minor flood level (2.00 m). The Georges River at Milperra is currently at 1.18 m AHD and rising, below the minor flood level. The Georges River at Milperra is likely to peak just below the minor flood level (2.00 m AHD) on the high tide around midday Thursday. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
