Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Minor Flood Warning For The Hunter River And Moderate Flood Warning For The Wollombi Brook Issued at 02:54 PM AEST on Monday 04 August 2025 Flood Warning Number: 16 MODERATE FLOODING LIKELY AT BULGA FROM MONDAY AFTERNOON MINOR FLOODING CONTINUING AT SINGLETON, MAITLAND AND RAYMOND TERRACE The main flood peak along the Hunter River is approaching Singleton where a minor flood peak expected late Monday afternoon. Further downstream minor flooding is continuing at Maitland and Raymond Terrace, where levels are expected to peak from overnight Monday into Tuesday. Along the Wollombi Brook, minor flooding is no longer occurring at Wollombi, and flood waters are now moving downstream which are likely to cause a moderate flood peak at Bulga from Monday evening. Wollombi Brook: Moderate flooding is likely at Bulga. The Wollombi Brook at Wollombi is currently at 6.44 m and falling, below the minor flood level. The Wollombi Brook at Wollombi is likely to remain below the minor flood level (6.70 m). The Wollombi Brook at Bulga is currently at 3.52 m and rising, with minor flooding. The Wollombi Brook at Bulga is likely to exceed the moderate flood level (3.70 m) Monday afternoon. The river level may reach around 4.20 m Monday evening, with moderate flooding. Lower Hunter: Minor flooding is occurring at Singleton, Maitland and Raymond Terrace. The Hunter River at Singleton is currently at 10.48 m and steady, with minor flooding. The Hunter River at Singleton may peak near 10.80 m Monday afternoon, with minor flooding. The Hunter River at Maitland Belmore Bridge is currently at 7.71 m AHD and steady, with minor flooding. The Hunter River at Maitland Belmore Bridge may reach around 7.90 m AHD Monday evening, with minor flooding. The Hunter River at Raymond Terrace is currently at 2.56 m AHD and steady, with minor flooding. The Hunter River at Raymond Terrace may reach around 2.70 m AHD Monday evening, with minor flooding. High river levels are likely to continue into Tuesday as peaks from the upper Hunter arrive. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous.
