Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology New South Wales TOP PRIORITY FOR IMMEDIATE BROADCAST Cancellation Of Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Southern Tablelands, Central West Slopes and Plains, South West Slopes, Riverina, Lower Western and Snowy Mountains Forecast Districts. Issued at 6:49 pm Friday, 29 August 2025. Damaging winds with showers and storms have eased through inland NSW, severe weather remains in the east. Weather Situation Showers and storms produced damaging winds about a cold front in southern New South Wales today, but have eased back. cancellation of severe thunderstorm warning for the following areas: Southern Tablelands, Central West Slopes and Plains, South West Slopes, Riverina, Lower Western and Snowy Mountains This warning is now cancelled. A severe weather warning remains current through eastern New South Wales. Please check www.bom.gov.au/australia/warnings/. 113 km/h wind gust was recorded at Cabramurra at 5:33 pm. 96 km/h wind gust was recorded at Albury Airport at 3:09 pm. 98 km/h wind gust was recorded at Hay Airport at 2:06 pm. The State Emergency Service advises that people should: * Keep clear of fallen power lines. * Keep clear of creeks and storm drains. * Don't walk, ride your bike or drive through flood water. * Stay vigilant and monitor conditions. Note that the landscape may have changed following bushfires. * For emergency help in floods and storms, ring the SES (NSW and ACT) on 132 500. No further warnings will be issued for this event.
