Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology, National Water Operations Major Flood Warning For The Daly River Issued at 10:12 AM ACST on Monday 23 March 2026 Flood Warning Number: 32 RENEWED RIVER RISES AND PROLONGED MAJOR FLOODING OCCURRING AT DALY RIVER POLICE STATION Moderate to heavy rainfall associated with Ex-Tropical Cyclone Narelle has been observed across the Daly River catchment since Sunday morning. Prolonged major flooding is continuing along the Daly River at Daly River Police Station, with river levels expected to remain above the major flood level for the remainder of March. While recent rainfall has caused renewed rises in river levels, they are expected to remain well below levels recorded earlier in March. The situation will be closely monitored and this warning will be updated as required. A Flood Watch is current for parts of the Top End including the Daly River catchment. A Severe Weather Warning is also current for parts of the Northern Territory. Daly River above Douglas River: River levels are elevated along the Daly River above Douglas River. Fergusson River: River levels are elevated along the Fergusson River. Lower Daly River: Prolonged major flooding is continuing along the Daly River with renewed rises occurring. The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is currently at 14.39 m and steady, with major flooding. The Daly River at Daly River Police Station is expected to remain above the major flood level (14.00 m) for the remainder of March. Flood Safety Advice: Don't drive, walk, swim or play in floodwater because it is dangerous. Stay away from flooded drains, rivers, streams and waterways. Obey road closure signs.
