Final Flood Warning For The Avon River

FLOODING EASING IN THE AVON RIVER
Heavy rainfall associated with a broad trough has resulted in river rises and areas of flooding which have adversely affected road conditions in the Avon catchment.
In the 24 hours to 9:00 am Thursday, rainfall totals of 40 - 60 mm with isolated totals up to 68 mm have been observed in the Avon river catchment. No significant rainfall is forecast for the next few days.
River rises and areas of flooding may continue to adversely affect road conditions.

Avon River to Beverley:
No further flooding is expected in the Avon River to Beverley.
Avon River from Beverley to Northam:
No further flooding is expected in the Avon River from Beverley to Northam.
Avon River at Balladong Street York:
Cancellation

Flood Safety Advice:
DFES advises people and communities to be aware that flooding is possible and be prepared to relocate equipment and livestock. Watch water levels. Travellers need to be aware that road conditions may be adversely affected and travel plans may need to be reconsidered. Do not drive into water of unknown depth and velocity.}
