Final Flood Warning for the Werribee River

Werribee River:
The Werribee River catchment has received rainfall averaging less than 1 mm
since 09:00 AM Monday 12 August 2019. Rainfall totals of less than 1 mm have
been forecast for the catchment today (Tuesday 13 August 2019).

Werribee River to Melton Reservoir:

The level of the Werribee River at Ballan had a secondary peak of 1.18 metres,
just below the Minor Flood Level (1.20 metres), at 13:54 yesterday. It is
currently at 0.88 metres, and falling.

The river heights at 09:24 AM Tuesday 13 August 2019 were:

Lerderderg River at O'Briens Crossing: 1.08 metres, steady

Lerderderg River at Darley (u/s Goodman Ck): 0.46 metres, steady

Werribee River at Ballan: 0.88 metres, falling

Werribee River at Bacchus Marsh: 0.66 metres, falling

Parwan Creek at Parwan: 0.59 metres, steady

Toolern Creek at Melton South: 0.36 metres, steady

Melton Reservoir Tail Gauge (Height): 0.92 metres, rising

Melton Reservoir Tail Gauge (Flow): 1085.99 Ml/d, rising

Werribee River at Wyndham Vale (at Diversion Weir): 0.39 metres, steady

Werribee River at Werribee (Cottrell St Ford): 0.36 metres, steady

Flood Safety Advice:
SES advises that all community members should:
Never walk, ride or drive through floodwater
Never allow children to play in floodwater
Stay away from waterways and stormwater drains during and after heavy rain
Keep well clear of fallen power lines
Be aware that in fire affected areas, rainfall run-off into waterways may
contain debris such as ash, soil, trees and rocks, and heavy rainfall increases
the potential for landslides and debris across roads
