Lines of severe storms hitting SA, with more dangerous weather on the way

Several lines of heavy rain and severe thunderstorms are moving over southern districts of SA this morning, kicking off two days of dangerous weather in southern Australia.

Large hail, severe thunderstorms to hit Adelaide, Bureau of Meteorology warns

A severe thunderstorm warning with large hail has been issued for the Adelaide metropolitan, Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula regions.  At 9:05am severe thunderstorms were detected on the weather radar near Ardrossan and Curramulka on the Yorke Peninsula and hit the Adelaide area just after 10am.
