Alpine forecast

It's mostly clear skies with spring warmth across the mountains, but a change is on the way.

Great spring conditions will give way to a trough and cold front on the weekend, with showers and gusty winds ahead of it on Saturday. The showers should start giving way to snow on Sunday, with snow likely on Monday. Freezing overnight temperatures following the front will keep the pack hardened until at least mid-next week, especially in the mornings.

Skies should be clearer later next week, then during the second week of the coming fortnight it should be pretty typical spring conditions, with some snow, rain, cloud, sun, and a softening snowpack.
