The chance of a thunderstorm in the south in the late morning and afternoon. Winds N/NE 15 to 20 km/h turning NW 25 to 35 km/h during the morning then tending N/NW 15 to 20 km/h in the late afternoon. Overnight temperatures falling to between 6 and 14 with daytime temperatures reaching 22 to 29.

  • Monday Mostly sunny. Slight chance of a shower on and west of the ranges, near zero chance elsewhere. Winds W/NW 25 to 40 km/h tending W/SW in the early afternoon then becoming light in the late evening. Overnight temperatures falling to between 6 and 15 with daytime temperatures reaching 20 to 29.

  • Tuesday Mostly sunny. Areas of morning frost on and west of the ranges. Light winds. Overnight temperatures falling to between minus 1 and 11 above zero with daytime temperatures reaching between 19 and 25.

Warm September night for Tasmania ahead of front

Tasmania just had a very warm September night, the second night in a row that minimum temperatures across the state were reporting well above average.  Warm air from mainland Australia has filtered down to the southeastern parts of the country, forced further south by strong winds from the interior associated with an approaching cold front.
