Wettest August in a decade for Melbourne
Graeme Brittain

August 2020 was Melbourne's wettest August in 10 years.
A total of 61.6mm was collected during August, which is 11.6mm (23%) above the long term average. The heaviest rainfall occurred during the 24 hours to 9am on Sunday 23rd.
Looking back over the last three months, winter 2020 was drier than average in Victoria’s capital, largely owing to below average rainfall in June and July.
During spring, climate models are indicating a high chance of above average rainfall between September and November across much of central, southern, and eastern Australia, including Melbourne.
