Upper cold pool causes storms in the southeast
A pool of cold air in the upper atmosphere resulted in overnight rain and storms in northeast Victoria and southern NSW, according to weatherzone.com.au. Some of the best falls occurred in northeast Victoria where Tallangatta picked up 63mm, its highest in a little over 4 years and possibly best February daily figure in 68 years. Albury Airport and Grenfell each scored 40mm. The storms continued today, intensifying with daytime heating. Wagga Wagga was deluged with 13mm falling in just 10 minutes early this afternoon.
