Fire danger in the western Top End

Fire danger in the western Top End

Dry and windy weather may cause severe fire danger ratings in parts of the western Top End on Tuesday.

A high pressure system centred over southern Australia will direct a surge of gusty winds across northern Australia on Tuesday. These conditions are likely to elevate fire danger ratings in the Northern Territoiry's Darwin and Adelaide River fire forecast area, where a fire weather warning has been issued.

These conditions are typical at this time of year, with bursts of gusty southeasterly winds common during the Top End's dry season.
