Adelaide expecting a warm start to April
Guy Dixon

A spell of warm weather looks to be on the horizon for Adelaide as March comes to a close.
Northerly winds ahead of a low pressure trough will draw a warm air mass from the interior over Adelaide from tomorrow. This is likely to be the start of at least three consecutive days of warm weather, with temperatures expected to reach into the thirties until Tuesday.
A complex weather pattern however complicates things, as if to be playing an April Fools trick on forecasters.
The low pressure trough which is expected to direct heat into SA is currently residing over southern parts of Western Australia. An associated cold front and low which brought cool conditions to Perth is expected to slip south over the Southern Ocean from tomorrow.
A second low pressure system however has the potential to develop once again within this low pressure trough. At this stage, it is highly variable as to whether this low will have an impact on Adelaide's heat.
In the scenario of this low developing, it brings the potential to slow the easterly movement of the trough, resulting in a late change for Adelaide. This low brings the potential to slow the change so much that even Wednesday could also reach into the thirties.
By the time this trough pushes east to Melbourne it is likely to lack intensity and bring only a pair of warm days in the high twenties.
Following this change both cities can expect temperatures close to average with the odd shower.
