Australia Satellite Notes
Cloud over north QLD and eastern NT with a weak low and trough is bringing rain and storms, heaviest about the Gulf. Low cloud along the tropical QLD coast in onshore winds is bringing showers. Cloud crossing the southeast with a front is bringing the odd light shower.
Tropical Cyclone Alfred has weakened to a tropical low as it nears landfall on the Gulf of Carpentaria's southern coast, but the Bureau of Meteorology warned the weather system remained powerful.
Perth, and much of Western Australia's southwest are about to experience their final scorcher of the summer.
Queensland's Carpentaria is still flooding due to a stubborn Ex-Tropical Cyclone Alfred and will only slowly dry out as the system moves away.
