Thick cloud blanketing the NT, QLD and NSW with a trough is causing showers, patchy rain and thunderstorms, some severe. Low cloud over southern SA, VIC and TAS in the wake of a front is producing showers. Skies are clearer in the west under a high pressure ridge.
