Temperatures at ground level can be many degrees lower than those recorded by
standard weather stations, especially in calm conditions with clear skies.
Frosts with temperatures down to 0 degrees are forecast for Thursday morning in
parts of the North West Coast, Central North, North East, Midlands, East Coast
and Upper Derwent Valley forecast districts
No further warnings will be issued for this event.
A tropical low brewing 600 kilometres north-east of the Queensland coast could make landfall somewhere between Cairns and Townsville early next week as a category three cyclone or higher, the Bureau of Meteorology (BOM) says.
