Final Flood Warning for the Barron River

Issued at 9:21 pm EST on Tuesday 27 March 2018
Flood Warning Number: 12

River levels are expected to continue falling across the Barron River catchment
overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.

No further significant rainfall is expected for the next few days.

Barron River to Tinaroo Dam:
Inflows into Tinaroo Dam are expected to continue for the remainder of Tuesday
but releases from the dam are not expected for the remainder of this event.

Barron River downstream of Tinaroo Dam to Barron Falls:
Minor flood levels are easing in the Barron River at Myola during Tuesday

Barron River downstream of Barron Falls:
No further flooding is expected in the Barron River downstream of Barron Falls.

River level observations at Kamerunga Bridge are unavailable. Based on upstream
river levels, the Barron River at Kamerunga Bridge is expected to have fallen
below the minor flood level (5.00 metres) Tuesday evening. The Barron River at
Kamerunga Bridge is expected to remain below the minor flood level (5.00 m)
overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.

The Barron River at Cairns Airport is currently at 2.08 metres and falling. The
river level at Cairns Airport is expected to remain below the minor flood level
(2.50 m) overnight Tuesday into Wednesday.
