A heatwave is continuing to grip parts of central and southern Queensland but a sea breeze has provided a reprieve for Brisbane.
A burst of hazy heat enveloped Sydney on Friday, with temperatures just not letting up well into the evening.
Temperatures will remain above 40 degrees Celsius in parts of central and southern Queensland until at least Wednesday next week, the Bureau of Meterology (BOM) warns.
