Alpine forecast

On Wednesday, winds will be increasingly stronger. Cloud will also build as well, and visibility will deteriorate, making it a bit dicey on the slopes - particularly in the afternoon. Victorian Alps will be the first to see the rain in the late afternoon, with New South Wales Alps getting a drenching in the evening.

Tomorrow, we could get 10 centimeters of snow all up, with the intensity of the snowfalls easing throughout the day. The snow levels look to be only around 1600 metres though, so only the peaks will get the fluffy stuff while the bases will get a bit slushy.

The coldest air and therefore the lowest snow levels are on Friday, but there is little moisture around, so we'll only get a centimetre or two.

Next week Monday, we are looking at the possibility of another snowfall event. Stay tuned for the next update!
