Woodside weather tower switched on
Friday March 12, 2010 - 14:17 EDT
Woodside says its meteorological tower at James Price Point, in northern Western Australia, has been erected and is sending weather information to Perth in real time.
The company applied to the Broome Shire late last year for permission to build the 30 metre tower at the site of its proposed liquefied natural gas processing facility.
The tower is collecting data on local weather conditions that will be factored into the precinct's design.
Woodside says the tower will remain in place for between one and three years.
