Winter finally arrives in Hobart

Winter finally arrives in Hobart
Hobart is about to have its coldest pair of days in almost a year after experiencing its warmest start to winter on record. The city's maximum temperature is forecast to reach 11 degrees on Wednesday and Thursday, which would be the first back-to-back days this cold since last July. While this is only one degree below average for this time of year, it is notably cooler than the month to date. Hobart's average maximum temperature during the first 20 days of June was 15 degrees, which is three above average. This is the highest on record for this point in the month and beats the previous record by more than half a degree. While temperatures will climb again on Friday, cooler conditions are on the cards this weekend and early next week as more cold fronts sweep across the state.
