Weatherzone forecasts deluge for the red centre
Tom Saunders

While the long wait for rain continues over southeastern Australia, the central interior can expect a deluge over the coming days for the second time this month.
The unusually heavy inland falls will result from northerly winds drawing substantial tropical moisture south over the interior from the warm waters off our northern coastline. The rain will first develop over inland Western Australia on Friday before it spreads further east over the southern NT during the weekend.
Alice Springs is likely to receive at least 20mm by Tuesday, giving the city it's wettest fortnight in nearly two years. West of the Alice rain may be even heavier with totals up to around 50mm possible, about as much rain the region would normally expect over about two months.
