WA's winter-like weather between hot spells

WA's winter-like weather between hot spells
Kalgoorlie recorded its coldest pair of November days in 75 years between hot spells. Kalgoorlie, in the Goldfields, averaged 32 degrees across the first 11 days of November, including one day exceeding 40 degrees. But on Wednesday this week a cool change moved through, dropping the temperature markedly. Thursday and Friday were then the coldest pair of days since September, reaching only 15 and 16 degrees respectively under thick cloud cover. Southern parts of Western Australia were smothered in cloud late in the working week as a broad low and trough crept across the region. This cool weather was in vast contrast to areas further east, where Adelaide reached 39 on Thursday and western Sydney reached 41 on Friday. Heat will surge back across inland parts of WA over the next few days, with Kalgoorlie set to reach the mid 30's again at the start of next week, almost 20 degrees hotter than yesterday.
