Warming up in Victoria

Warming up in Victoria
It's warming up in the country's southeast, highlighted by Victoria's start to the week. Maximum temperatures on Sunday were generally the warmest they've been since April, not surprising as we head further into spring, but still note-worthy. The warm Sunday was followed by a very warm night. Again, widespread across the state minimum temperatures were as high as they've been in six months. This includes Melbourne, which only dropped to 15 degrees at 7am this morning. The heating trend comes as a broad high sits in the Tasman, directing in warm, humid northeasterly winds. However, a trough has been crossing the state today, bringing a band of showers and breaking the northeasterly trend. Despite this brief wind change, Tuesday and Wednesday are still set to be warm. Melbourne has already had three days where the mercury has risen to or above 21 degrees. Once the next two days have passed, this will be five days in a row of 21 degrees or more, which hasn't happened since April. The "heat" wave will be broken by a cold front set to whip through on Wednesday, delivering cold winds and showers. For those who yearn for the summer warmth, rest assured it will return by the weekend.
