Unseasonable warmth will affect parts of Western Australia in the coming days. A large high pressure system centred to the south of Australia is directing warm air from the Pilbara region down towards the state's Southwest Land Division. Perth is forecast to reach 30 degrees on Friday and 29 degrees on Saturday, which is 7-8 degrees above average for this time of year. The city hasn't had two consecutive days this warm during May since 2003. Other locations in the Great Southern, Central Wheatbelt and Central West Districts are forecast to climb 10 degrees above average for this time of year on Friday and Saturday. A weak change will drop temperatures a bit in the state's southwest from Sunday, although daytime maximums will remain a few degrees above average in Perth well into next week. In addition to the late-season warmth, Perth will continue to experience dry weather through the end of this week. As of 9am today, the city had only registered 29mm of rain so far this autumn, making this the driest autumn to date in seven years.
