Whilst the southeast of Australia has seen frequent fronts over the last week, the southwest has experienced more settled conditions.

Western Australia's next frontal system will arrive on Friday, bringing with it strong winds and for some, heavy rain as a pair of cold fronts make their way across the southwest. Winds will begin to gradually strengthen throughout the morning, peaking in the afternoon and evening, before easing slightly overnight. Gusty conditions will persist on Saturday, however, particularly for the southern coast of WA as a cold front looks to linger.

At the peak of the winds on Friday evening, gusts of 80-90km/h are possible over coastal parts of Central West, Lower West, South West and South Coastal, with a second burst of similar winds for coastal South West and South Coastal during Saturday afternoon.

Rainfall totals don't look to be quite as high as previous systems this winter, although 10-20mm is still possible over parts of Central West, Lower West and South West, with 5-10mm expected over eastern parts of Great Southern and the Central Wheat Belt.
