Thundersnow strikes Thredbo and Perisher

Thundersnow strikes Thredbo and Perisher
Early this afternoon a cold front surging across the VIC/NSW border produced the rare combination of both snow and lightning. Snow bunnies are actively anticipating this snow event, hoping for it to bring a decent fall that could be nurtured until the start of the season. The sight of both snow falling and the flash of lightning is a pretty good indicator that the fall could be pretty good today, as storms generally produce higher precipitation rates. The snow will continue to fall with showers the remainder of today and then again on Tuesday with the next cold front. In total there should be 10-25cm across the VIC and NSW resorts. With many cold nights to come we can be sure that the resorts will be making as much snow as possible in the hope that another front comes before the June long weekend.
