Thick fog blankets Goulburn Murray

The weather bureau says the thick fog in Victoria's Goulburn Murray region may not clear until this afternoon.

Visibility is particularly poor in the Goulburn Valley.

Forecaster Peter Blake says the sun will probably not be warm enough to clear the fog this morning.

"All our sensors around and satellite are indicating quite extensive areas in northern Victoria, so [it] could linger into the afternoon - there's no strength in the sun at this time of the year ... the days are getting longer but the sun's not getting any stronger really at the moment," he said.
