The Wet arrives in Broome

The wet season has kicked off in Broome with a record deluge of November rain.

The town received 44 millimetres last night.

That has beaten the record set in 1943 for the most rain received on a single day in November.

The Bureau of Meteorology says four times more rain fell last night than is usually recorded over the entire month.
