Storms, winds and a gusty cool change mark the end of a very hot week for SA
Its been a crazy week in weather for South Australia, with today being no different. Several thunderstorms are moving through South Australia today due to a lingering low pressure trough, prompting a severe weather warning for damaging wind gusts in excess of 90km/h. From Roxby Downs to Renmark, patchy showers and lots of cloud are helping to keep a lid on the heat, although barely any rain is registering in the gauges. Along the coast, showers have been less than 5mm. A cold front traversing the south today is bringing a cooler air mass and causing large temperature drops about the coast. In Port Lincoln, the temperature plummeted five degrees in three minutes, falling from 32 degrees to 27. Coles Point also dropped five degrees over the space of 11 minutes and Ceduna fell 10 degrees over half an hour. The cooler air mass will push the heat further north, with Monday likely to be a substantially cooler day throughout most parts of the state, by around 10 to 15 degrees degrees. Southerly winds will be very gusty at times during Monday. On Tuesday it will remain cool throughout the state. Heat will begin to build steadily once again, with Friday looking to be hottest day this week. Stay up to date with current warnings at http://www.weatherzone.com.au/warnings.jsp?lt=wzstate&lc=sa
