Storms cuts power in Kalgoorlie

An uprooted tree in Burt Street, Boulder, following the storm that swept through the area.

A severe thunderstorm caused more than 5,000 homes in Kalgoorlie-Boulder to lose power.
Western Power says while electricity was restored to most homes last night, about 550 are still without power this morning.
It says transformer faults and downed power poles are to blame.
Police have received several reports of damage to local businesses and cars.
