Storm front batters homes, cuts power

Victorian police say the Western Highway in Western Victoria has reopened after a storm front battered houses and trees in the area.

The front swept through the town of Beaufort shortly after 8:00pm.

One house has had its roof blown off and power has been cut to hundreds of homes in the area.

State Emergency Services from Ballarat and Ararat responded to four calls for assistance.
