Spring storms in South Australia

Spring storms in South Australia
Thunderstorms fired up in southeastern South Australia today, with some of these cells affecting Adelaide. After a cloudy start, the sun appeared in the late morning and Adelaide warmed to a balmy 19 degrees. However, a line of storms began popping up on the Yorke Peninsula before noon and began their trek towards the city. A low pressure system was the culprit of these storms. As it moved near the coast, it enhanced instability. Cold upper-air wrapped up in the low brought some chilly downdrafts, with some places cooling rapidly. Roseworthy plummeted ten degrees in just one hour. Meanwhile, seven degrees toppled off the mercury from 1:30pm to 2:30pm in Adelaide as the storm lumbered overhead. The storms also brought hail in some locations, with reports of hail of around a centimetre in size around Woodside. Storms are likely to continue throughout today, making the hump-day commute home all the more agonising. However, storms should subside as the sun sets, and showers should ease an hour or so after that. From tomorrow and for the rest of the working week, you won't need an umbrella. It will be most sunny as a ridge moves over South Australia. Temperatures will warm to the low 20's by the weekend.
