Snow in late spring

Chris Matthews

Snowfall in November

A deep low pressure system south of Tasmania is driving cold gusty west to southwesterly winds across Victoria and NSW. These strong winds combined with rain and below freezing temperatures over the Snowy Mountains have dropped a dusting of snow.

Temperatures dropped to –4C at Thredbo, –2C at Perisher and –3C at Falls Creek overnight. Any rain that fell actually fell as snow.

Minimum temperatures for Sunday 14-11-2021

This lead to a dusting of snow across the Snowy Mountains.

Front Valley at Perisher at 10:48am on Sunday 14/11

Merritts Cruiser at Thredbo at 10:49am  Sunday 14/11

Big D at Mt Hotham 10:54am on Sunday 14/11
