Record Breaking Heat for the Kimberley

Record Breaking Heat for the Kimberley
Parts of the Kimberley have had their hottest October morning on record. Broome has recorded the hottest October morning since records began in 1941 (75 years ago) with an overnight temperature of 28.2 degrees. Truscott had its hottest October morning since 2005 (27.8 degrees) while Marble Bar recorded its hottest October morning since 2009 (30.5 degrees). Other places such as Bedout Island (27.2 degrees) and Mandora (27.5 degrees) recorded the warmest October morning in the last couple of years. This heat was caused by a lingering hot airmass in combination with cloud cover, insulating the heat. This hot airmass will continue to linger throughout the week, though showers and storms arriving on Monday should start to cool it down. Morning cloud will continue to limit overnight cooling, meaning mornings should continue to be much warmer than average.
