Recent rainfall across west Victoria has helped increased the region's water storages.
The Grampians storages are now 4.1 per cent full, with an extra 1,500 megalitres of water since last week.
Grampians Wimmera Mallee Water's Helen Friend says the heavy rain a week ago has wetted the catchments and means they are now able to start filling up.
"We need some consistent rain so the catchment don't start to dry out - the heavier the better so it doesn't soak into the ground," she said.
"With heavier rainfall we tend to get more inflows because the run-off's better."
