The trough which passed across South Australia yesterday brought with it welcome rainfall, but the heaviest falls were mainly along the coast.
The heaviest falls were all recorded in the state's far southeast. Kingston recorded the heaviest rainfall total with 28 millimetres falling in 24 hours. This was a thirteen month high and the heaviest December one day total in seven years.
Nearby Cape Jaffa and Robe both recorded 19 millimetres, their heaviest falls in four months, and five years for December.
In the Greater Adelaide District, Parawa recorded 18mm, which was their heaviest fall in four months. On the West Coast Mt Cooper received 11mm, which was again their heaviest fall in four months, but impressively was their highest one day December total in 19 years.
Unfortunately in the Murraylands and Riverland Districts the heaviest fall recorded was just 1.5 millimetres at Waikerie. Loxton received one millimetre.
Conditions are set to remain mostly dry for for the early part of next week until another trough spreads showers and storms across southern Australia.
