Perth baking again

Perth baking again
Scorching heat has ravaged Western Australia's capital again today. Perth recorded a high of almost 40 degrees, that's a whopping nine degrees above average and the hottest so far this summer. Since the New Year, the city has been struck by heatwave after heatwave, with temperatures regularly topping 35 degrees. If tomorrow's maximum reaches the forecast 40 degrees, it will be the tenth day that the mercury has pushed past 35 this month, the last time that happened in January was 1992. The average for the month is six days for plus 35 temperatures. Tomorrow should be even hotter, with eastern suburbs likely to see temperatures exceeding 40 degrees. Into the weekend, things will cool down, with daytime highs due to drop into the low thirties and last until this time next week.
